When we take responsibility for our actions and encourage others to do the same, we create cleaner neighborhoods, healthier waterways, and a more beautiful Sevier County for everyone. Small habits lead to big change. Here are a few simple ways you can help:
- Choose to be litter-free wherever you go.
- Know Tennessee’s litter laws and understand the impact of illegal dumping.
- Speak up when friends or family litter…education makes a difference.
- Keep a litter bag in your vehicle to prevent trash from piling up.
- Secure your load when hauling items in a truck or trailer to keep debris off the road.
- Join a community cleanup or help at a litter-free event.
- Smokers: carry a portable ashtray and dispose of cigarette butts properly.
- Report littering when you see it happening from a vehicle.
- Pet owners: always bag waste and use proper trash bins.
- Secure household trash by tying bags tightly for curbside pickup.
Every action counts, and your influence spreads from your home to your school, workplace, and community.
